FT Residential Case Worker - Gallagher Centre
SLCS is currently seeking a Full-time Residential Case Worker for Gallagher Centre. As a member of this interdisciplinary team you will provide assessment, crisis intervention, discharge planning and support services as needed. You will be expected to assess clients’ skills and needs, particularly in regard to their mental health and addiction issues, in addition to advocacy for clients involved in the criminal justice system. You will liaise with other services i.e. parole officers, clinical support, courts to coordinate care for clients, etc.
In addition to these elements of the position, you will be responsible for the safety and security of the clients and other staff during your shift. You will work collaboratively with other team members to complete administrative functions for Gallagher Centre.
You will be skilled at working with clients from diverse populations; contributing to program development; as well as providing education support and supervision to students. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all the applicable and regulatory requirements. This position is primarily located at Gallagher Centre.
Required Qualifications
- University Degree or 2 – 3-year College Diploma from an accredited institution
- Standard First Aid /CPR with AED – Level C
- Valid G Class Driver’s License
- Candidates who are proficient in both official languages of Canada will be considered an asset
