FT Intake and Case Management Worker - Justice Centre

SLCS is currently seeking a Full Time Intake and Case Management Worker to support the London Justice Centre program.  This program model supports young adults (18 – 24) who are involved with the justice system to access viable, accountable and meaningful pre-charge or post-charge alternatives in collaboration with  Police Services, and the Province (Ministry of the Attorney General).  The Justice Centre is part of Ontario’s Guns, Gangs and Violence Reduction Strategy and the intent is to connect individuals with multi-sectoral, wrap around interventions, support and services to reduce the risk of re-offending while promoting restorative justice practices.

The Intake and Case Management Worker will possess a solid understanding of the Criminal Justice System and be responsible for receiving referrals from Police Services and the Crown. The role involves completing intake needs assessments, determining an individual’s ability and willingness to make reparation and take accountability for their actions, determining appropriate measures/sanctions that are meaningful and proportional, and supporting the needs of the client while ensuring their completion.   The role involves liaising with other services i.e. crowns, placement supervisors, Police Services, community partnerships, etc. to ensure the client is receiving the most suitable options.  The role would also entail referring and accessing community-based rehabilitative services and programs, engaging with victims and facilitating the delivery of restitution so knowledge of available and appropriate community resources will be an asset. The successful candidate would also be required to provide information and train individuals in restorative justice practices.

The Intake and Case Management Worker will be skilled at and have experience in working with clients from diverse, marginalized and vulnerable populations; contributing to program development and evaluation; as well as completing monthly statistical reports and program summary reports.  The Intake and Case Management Worker will actively participate in a workplace that embraces diversity and inclusion, encourages teamwork and collaboration, and complies with all the applicable and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • University Degree or College Diploma from a 2 – 3 year program at an accredited institution or relevant work experience
  • 1 – 2 years experience working with young adults in the justice system
  • Standard First Aid/CPR/AED – Level C
  • Restorative Practices Training (Preferred)
  • G2 or G Class Drivers License and access to a vehicle
  • Candidates who are proficient in both official languages of Canada will be considered an asset
